81.png

The Nalaga'at Theater (Israel) was established in 2002 by Adina Tal and Eran Gur, to help integrate deaf, blind and deaf-blind individuals into mainstream society, using culture as a platform to promote their rights, talents, and aspirations. This marks the uniqueness of the Nalaga'at Theater, being the first theater in the world to integrate deaf-blind actors into the cultural scene. Performances of Nalaga'at make the audience realize that there is no difference between a blind, deaf or sighted person. Nothing stands in the way of expressing yourself, your needs and being creative. According to Nalagaat employees, everyone has something to give to the other person. Art makes this particularly easy. But Nalagaat is not only a theater, but also a center of culture and art. It is also the Kapish Kafe Event Center and the Black Out restaurant, immersed in complete darkness and operated by the blind.

The Center aims to solve two main problems:

- Improve employment and economic independence among deaf and/or blind people

- Promotion and integration of deaf and/or blind people in society through art.

In addition to creating unique employment opportunities, the center provides Deaf, blind and deaf-blind individuals with professional training to develop their own talents, skills, and abilities in order to assist them in becoming self-sufficient.
